Virtual Reality (VR)
You can view your models using a Virtual Reality (VR) headset.
We recommend that you use PCVR, where the simulation runs inside the browser on your computer and the VR headset connects to your computer. You can use Meta Quest Link or Steam VR to connect your VR headset to your computer. The process is simple:
- Connect your headset to your computer, either via a cable or wirelessly.
- Ensure that either Meta Quest Link or Steam VR is running on your computer.
- Launch either Quest Link or Steam Link on your headset.
- Click the VR button in the toolbar inside ProtoTwin.
Please note that the VR button will not be visible in the ProtoTwin toolbar if your browser doesn’t support WebXR.
Performance
Virtual Reality in ProtoTwin uses WebXR. WebXR does not yet support rendering from a worker thread. Unfortunately, this means that we must switch to rendering on the main thread when you enable VR in ProtoTwin. To ensure that you achieve a consistent framerate, it is necessary to use a computer that is equiped with a powerful graphics card. We recommend using an NVIDIA RTX 3080 or better.
Interaction
ProtoTwin does not yet support interacting with the model or teleporting. We plan to add interaction and teleportation in a future version.
